Who we are
A conviction,
not a curriculum.

rooh.ed grew from a deep conviction: that the most important thing a teacher can develop is not technique, but self-knowledge. The craft of teaching begins within.

Trained in Waldorf education and rooted in the living wisdom of India, the work of rooh.ed sits at the crossing of two rich streams — one from the West, one from here. Both point inward.

We have been doing this work for over two decades. Out of love for it. With purpose and passion. We just never had a name for it. Then one day — a little birdie sat by the window and whispered. And rooh it was. Like it was always there, waiting to be found.

The questions that moved us
Where rooh.ed
began.

rooh.ed did not begin with a programme. It began with questions — ones we kept returning to, year after year, classroom after classroom.

What if technique is not enough?
We kept seeing skilled teachers who were exhausted, disconnected, going through the motions. The methods were right. Something else was missing.
What does a child actually receive?
Not just the lesson — but the quality of presence the teacher brings. A child feels whether a teacher is truly there. That cannot be faked or trained by checklist.
Can we tend to the teacher, not just train them?
Training gives tools. Tending gives roots. We wanted to work with the whole teacher — her inner life, her sense of self, her relationship to the work she carries.
What would it look like to teach from a rooted place?
Settled. Present. Unhurried. Knowing why you do what you do. Not performing teaching — but living it. These questions became rooh.ed.

Our philosophy
The teacher is the curriculum
No method, however elegant, can substitute for a teacher who is present, alive, and inwardly grounded. Development begins with the person who teaches.
Craft is a way of knowing
The arts — storytelling, puppetry, movement, song, watercolour — are not extras. They are ways of knowing the world and the child that no worksheet can replicate.
Two traditions, one root
Steiner's philosophy and India's living wisdom share a common understanding: that human beings are whole, that learning is sacred, and that the child deserves depth.
Research deepens practice
We believe in practitioner inquiry — teachers asking real questions about their own classrooms and sharing what they find. Knowledge grows from within the work.

rooh.ed is carried by a team of trained educators with deep experience in Waldorf education, early childhood, the arts, and teacher development. We are practitioners first — people who have spent years in classrooms, with children, doing this work.

We do not come with answers. We come with questions, with warmth, and with the willingness to sit alongside a teacher in her own process of becoming.
